Reverse Town Hall

I’m hosting a Reverse Town Hall this Thursday, January 18th, 7 p.m at the Art Gallery of Burlington to discuss the downtown Burlington in context to our Official Plan and the draft precinct plan.

Reverse Town Hall is all about coming together to share your perspectives. I hope to see many residents, developers and stakeholders this Thursday.

Burlington Beach Regional Waterfront Park Master Plan

At the September 23 council meeting City Burlington BeachwayCouncil approved several recommendations for the Burlington Beachway related to the 30 homes on the Beachway and Regional plans for a waterfront park. There were several recommendations approved by Council regarding the Beachway. I encourage you to read my blog where I have detailed the specific direction from City Council and include links to the staff report. There is also a brief outline available in the press release online.

The next step will be made at Regional Council on October 23. The outcome of that meeting will be sent as a separate update after that time.

Section 37 Community Benefits / Carriage Gate Development

I have heard from several residents who have expressed concern about the reduction in affordable housing as part of the community benefits of the development by Carriage Gate in downtown Burlington.

This is a complex subject. I believe it is necessary to provide some perspective and information about Section 37 Community Benefits.
